wake-n-bake with electric

GOOd MOrninG

This track is off of Insight's Targeting Zone Lp, Electric is featured on this track and it is one of my favorite E: tracks. Laid back smokey vibe, for any morning high.

If you haven't heard of the Electric crew, it consist of 5 mc's and production by the always busy Insight. Mc's Anonymous, Dagha, Radio Raheem Jamal, and Moe Pope round out the entire group. The only full Lp released was 2004's "Life's a struggle". Classic album, but a little short with only 7 vocal tracks. They have released three single from the Lp and 3 b-sides have been add to the discog.

I will up them soon. Dagha has had his best success with the Divorce that dropped early 08, and I believe he has two earlier albums, you should check. Radio Raheem's album boombox was amazing, the best solo album from the group. Moe Pope is formaly of the crew Mission: with mc Rashaan Ahmad. He too released an album this year with producer Headnodic. I cant stress enough how good mission: was, definitely check the album "1" and rare japan release of all their b-sides and early ep's. Anonymous doesnt have a solo album yet, but he teams up with Moe and Raheem to form the group Project Move. They released Butterfly Theory in 06. And finally producer and mc. Insight, if you don't know his work, google his ass!

GA b-sides

Grand Agent is another Philly Mc im gonna hype for years and years to come, A slick vocal mc from his rugged beginning with the Crew N.A.M.E. Grand Agent shined and on thier first release the lost page of the b-boy document to his many singles, GA has killed it. His first solo full lp by design on groove attack records, was a classic front to back, with ridiculus production and vocal guest. Producers, Chops, Lord Finesse, Kut Masta Kurt and Hi-tek and A.g., Planet Asia on the mic make By Design a gem. His later releases with mc liv l'raynge I really havent been feeling, but His early works are great, his2nd lp fish outta water is aslo sick. Make sure to check the .........

b-sides

Bag of grand agent b-sides from his early works. Featuring 10 classics from the philly native, including the Ga / Pete Rock Remix of Is this Really What They Meant. Collab with Louis Logic on Service the Target. Dont Let The Video Make the Song Better ft clueso, and Hammerproof with donte (of Mood) and K-otix.

CITIZEN XAVIER ONLINE EP (refresh again)

This is a small collection of Cit X material from the last four years.
For true Hip-Hop heads, looking for intelligent lyrics and raw beats!

Look out for his next release - "The Blue Horizen Project"
& his new songs @>

http://www.myspace.com/citizenxavier

{info from his myspace page}

"Citizen Xavier is a triumphant foot on the chest of the defeated opposition. I write rhymes because I flat out love to...I make beats because I flat out love to...My songs depict my thoughts, feelings, and opinions. I personify semantics and shed light on what most try to keep in the dark. I could go on in a more autobiographical manner, but just listen to the songs. If there's something you feel you need to know, hit me up. If not, enjoy what's been provided. You can also check out my man King Midas at myspace.com/goldtouchprods. He is the only other producer I work with and I have the utmost respect for his style. Hip Hop is nowhere near dead..its just that the dope MC's are either undiscovered or they only get so far because their styles don't cater to the majority. Either way, there are still heads out there who put their heart and souls into puttin down something funky fresh..THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT NEED OUR ATTENTION. Peace. "

The Honor Roll 08 = Mick Boogie + LRG

This one has been floating around the web, dope mixtape honoring a whole bunch of classic hip-hop artists, with the new cats showing their respect. Stand out tracks "Hits From The Bong" redone by Alchemist & Evidence, "Ego Trippin" by Asheru & The Els and "Stakes Is High" with Talib Kweli on the vocals. Another Boogie banger, enjoy

DIVERSE b-sides ///// free mix adult swim

{From the mailroom to “Move,” to “One A.M.” and beyond, Diverse innovates. A self-described poet, his rhymes are true. Shunning the pseudo-hard stance taken by some emcees in favor of everyday human experience, Diverse consistently ups the ante. Over the course of numerous releases and collaborations, his rhymes have shown that flash and substance don’t necessarily have to be adversaries. }

from his profile at chocolate Ind. Records

I couldnt put his story together better than his record label has so i let them do the background check. Diverse is one of my favorite artist after 00' his only full One A.M. is a classic front to back. The vinyl is pressed on heavy vinyl, and stays in my recently listing too crate. The production of A.M. is is amazing mostly composed by Rjd2 and Prefuse 73. His debut ep Move is hard to find and is only 4 tracks deep, and he has release many singles from One A.M. all containing b-sides and remixes. But still I was in search of more Diverse, I came across lots of random collaboration with undeground artist I havent yet heard. I am still looking to get my hand on the mp3 copies of the Big Game 12" [with the tracks, Die Slow and Big Game ft J.U.I.C.E.] I have collected some of the better songs and save you the time of locating these gems. As well as the b-sides from his 12" singles. The tracks not to be missed are "beyond, beyond" (prod Madlib) "Against Me" and "Blues Singer". 14 tracks

Diverse B-sides

Also check this mixtape (cd) that Adult Swim and Diverse's Record Label Chocolate Ind. have released for free!!, which includes the newest Diverse track "Escape Earth" and also a remix for Big Game ft Vast Air. The mix also includes artist the cool kids (kid cudi) and Push Button objects and a few other artist on the record label. I'm not so sure about the rest of the tracks, but still, some more Diverse for ya.....

HD's b-sides and 12" cash $$$$$ mix

Homeliss Derilex are one of my favorite Hip-hop groups of the 90's.
Featuring MC 50 Grand (aka Grand the Visitor) with beats by The Architect. The group hails from San Francisco and were doing their thing, when Peanut butter Wolf picked them up as one of the first press 12" vinyl of the young stones throw catalog (cash money 12"). The Architect is now pretty well known, he has worked with Rubix, Planet Asia and many other west coast groups. He has put out a couple of dope instrumental lp as well.

In 2003 stones throw re-released the rare HD's ep "Fraudulent" (only on wax) Original released around 94. In 2005 the group would release "Fraudulent the album" with 8 addition tracks to make it a full album. The lp version did feature 2 tracks that were left off the cd release and they are contained in this B-Sides Collection Also included is the Cash Money 12" with two additional remixes of the song. The song max mode (prod PBW) was a classic sleeper that was released as a solo 50 grand track (amazing vinyl only track). This mix is 10 tracks in all so enjoy. If you dont know who these guys are I would definitly look out from anything produced by the Architect, and the Grand Visitor is about to release his first solo album. As far as the other HD albums they have put out 2 lp recently which are "Raise it Up" and "HD's Vs. The Sp-1200" both dope as hell.

The Scienz of John Robinson Mix / Discography

I dont know where to begin with John Robinson (aka Lil' Sci). Lately he has been busy, putting out new material almost as much as madlib's been producing. It all started in N.J. with the group Scienz of Life. Along with Lil Sci, mc ID 4 Windz and Inspector Willabe were part of this underground trio. The first single the group put out was a solid foundation of what was to come.{Doin our thing/Et Mc '95} The second single was what put them on the map. Fondle Em picked up the talent and i believe the single {powers of 9 ether/the anthem 96'} was one of the first to be released on Bobbitos Fondle' Em Records.

This was were i first heard the group, 9ether was to sick to be slept on. Their first full release was Coming Forth By Day: The Book Of The Dead on Subverse Records (which i believe is also defunct) and wasn't released until 99-00 so it was a pretty long break to put out that first album. The Cover alone lets you know, that Scienz was on some other ish. Project Overground was a huge step in the growth of scienz from their first Lp. Of course the stand out single was Yikes featuring another fondle em mc, mf doom.

Later Scienz would release Diggin in the Archives a collection of singles, b-sides and features during the periods btw their second full album Project Overground '02 (diggin also featured a dope dvd that let you know about their production, live shows etc) and third album. They cleaned up the rought edges on production and lryical became more focused. In 06 Scienz released The Blaxploitation Sessions. The group took a few years off and this gave room for Lil Sci to breath and he began to focus on some solo work and perfect his vocals. Like I said this guy has been busy. He has dropped verses on many albums, comps. He has just released The John Robinson Leak editions Vol 1 + 2. which contain these missing pieces. They also contain some really dope producers from across the board. From madlib, mf doom, ta' raach even, dangermouse then to collabs. with instrumental producers Flying Lotus, Chris Craft and the Locsmif (superfresh check him out instrumental maddness - always blessed is my favorite track). For the most part this is solo material with scienz on a few tracks. These Are both highly recommended.

I'm not so sure on the order of the releases, but i do believe that the group Sol Uprising (sci +Stacey Epps) was created a little after the release of Project Overground. Stacey Epps is a female poet/vocalist who added her talents in some of scienz's chorus's. That album was a concept album about "sol power". It is definitely the least favorite of all his stuff, i cant get into Stacey Epps voice, but its up to the listener and still is better than half the hip-hop out there. Lil Sci has good relations with many producers around the globe. His Latest project is that with Carlos Nino, producer whom which i think might have produced the best release of the year. Elevation: Whats The Science? Simply this is some lyically potent matieral followed by impressive beats.

Scienz of Life is going to release an album i believe in 09 and Lil Sci has official change his mc name, to his real name of John Robinson and his first real solo album (who is the man? prod. Mf Doom) is due out at the end of September, Be sure to check that out and his myspace. If he is coming to your town def go and support the real. Also check this mix of some of his material featuring 1 song from all his releases plus a couple of b-sides 15 tracks in all>

Yesh! Please

okay, okay. i gotta share this collection, this one is dedicated to N.Y.C. Mc Yeshua Dapoed. This Past Summer one of my favorite pieces of forgot wax was re-released - The Visualz ( now Anthology) by Siah and Yeshua Dapoed. Originally released in the mid 90's as a ep with thier most noted song (and Longest) "A day like any other" and 4 other bangers, is now available on cd with a collection of b-sides and lost 12" now expanded to 20 impressive tracks. Personally this is some of the best stuff from fondle' em catolog. I strongly suggest you cop that shit today!!!

I have collected all of Yeshua's material and have created a little mix from all of his releases. His material from the Unsung Heroes, Siah, His solo ep Shout, collabs with Dynamic Syncopation, Headbop Music, my personal favorite song with the cloudkickers (truely gifted ones) So enjoy these 18 slept on classics.

best of yesh
